What a weekend! Hubby and I have a permanent campsite in a campground in Shawano County. We haven't camped for over 4 years because of hubbys summer job requiring him to work 10 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. I finally convinced him to quit working this year so we will again be camping. The old trailer was old and falling apart so we purchased a different one this past week.
I spent several days up there emptying out the old trailer (bedding, dishes, cookware, you name it, we had it up there) Brought home what was salvageable (what the mice didn't use as a toilet!) and washed with bleach. THe rest went in the dumpster.
A local from the area pulled the old trailer away from the deck and placed it in the lot across from ours and someone else from up there came and hauled it away. He will scrap it out. Then on Friday we went back up and cleaned out the area that the old trailer sat on. The trailer used to be my Dads and he had ALOT of stuff stored under there. I spent all morning burning up old, rotten lumber that he put under there.
Then in the afternoon the guy that pulled the old camper out for us, took us up to Lena to get the new trailer. He hauled it to the campground, then got his tractor over there and placed the new camper next to the deck.
What an awesome job he did of that. We stayed there all Friday night, yesterday and til noon today. We worked all morning cutting limbs and brushing out the lot (amazing how much everything grew up in 4 years!) and we were just worn out working out there in the heat and humidity so decided it was time to pack up and come home. We both hated to leave. Love love love that new trailer.
Here are some pictures of the trailer we bought. As soon as we get the lot all cleaned up and the skirting and everything done I will post more pictures.
How fun for you, Barb! I miss camping...we haven't been since we discovered our dog has severe skin allergies so he can't be outside for extended periods of time. We tent camped, but this would be so much easier! Sounds like you had a productive week. Rest now - you earned it!
I posted pictures on my blog on my new craft room! You should check it out if you have time! I'm looking forward to having a nice space to work in now instead of the basement...maybe I'll get more done now! :)
